Social Saturday
Thanks to all who attended another beautiful Saturday morning held at Reba Sear. Makes a huge difference when the weather behaves and we get to sit outside!
Our next time trial is this week coming up! To celebrate AFL grandfinal day we thought it would be great to do a theme footy colours day! Wear you're favourite footy team colours and test yourself over 5km!
Coach Brad will be away this weekend so if anyone can help out with timing/photography this weekend that would be awesome! Message Brad directly on 0410035601 if you are happy to help out :)
PCYC Huon Valley and RMC Join Forces
PCYC and RMC are joining forces together with support of the Alcohol and Drug Foundation to provide youth, between 14-20 years of age, a free 20 week all-access membership. This is a fantastic opportunity for youth that are finishing winter sport and looking for an activity to participate in through the summer period, an inactive adolescent who is wanting to engage within their community in a healthy and positive manner or simply a teenager who wants to exercise along side their parent or friend.
Please reach out to Bianca Jackman at Huon Valley PCYC via email - bianca.jackman@hvpcyc.org.au or drop in to the centre through the week

STRENGTH SESSIONS
NEW FOCUS THIS WEEK IS ECCENTRIC
The focus is on very slow and control movement patterns, particularly on the stretching out of the muscle
You should feel the stretch in your muscles and we encourage and emphasise the slowness of that phase of the exercise (for example- straight leg deadlift- very slow on the lowering down- feel the stretch through their hamstrings)
Eccentric exercises allow the muscle to tear to build stronger and bigger muscles.
This is fantastic way to get stronger faster
As it is a slow movement, ensure they maintain great trunk control and technique throughout
You may feel sorer after these sessions which is very normal due to the type of training it is.
GENERAL CLASS REMINDERS
Please take SWEAT TOWELS and drink bottles with you throughout the session.
Please advise the instructor if you have any new or old injuries that they should be aware of or will impact your training. We will support you with your exercise and provide alternative exercises.
Please be prompt to classes as we aim to start demonstration on time.
